Elizabeth Schwarz Wins VFW Essay Contest
Elizabeth Schwarz of Scotch Plains, a seventh-grader at Terrill Middle School, won First Place in a recent Patriot's Pen Essay Writing Contest sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10122 of Scotch Plains-Fanwood. The theme of this year's contest was "Why American's Veterans Should Be Honored."
In recognition of her achievement, Schwarz was given a US Savings Bond, a medal and a Certificate of Merit at a June ceremony in her school.
