In a press release from the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA: Pictured here are happy participants heading home after successfully completing the one mile run held at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA in Scotch Plains on Saturday, April 28, 2012.  Over 400 participants “United for a Cause” and completed the course.  The a 5K Run and One Mile Fun Walk/Jog/Run was a collaborative effort of the Scotch Plains PTA and the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA for the Y’s LIVESTRONG program for cancer survivors and the Scholarship fund at the Scotch Plains High School.  Proceeds from the event will benefit both LIVESTRONG and the Scholarship fund at the high school.
