Girl Scouts Bingo is a Hit in Fanwood-Scotch Plains
More than 200 Girl Scouts of all ages enjoyed an afternoon of Bingo at St. Bartholomew’s School in Scotch Plains on March 23rd. The event, organized by Cadette Girl Scout troop 40547, included 190 prizes for Bingo and raffles.
Many of the prizes were donated by local businesses, including Scoops ice cream parlor, Spazio Nails, Alfonso’s Pizzeria, McDonald’s, Burger King, Subway, Bowcraft amusement park, salons Diva’s and Jackie’s Place, Scotch Plains Music, Out of Bounds rideshop, and many more. The Girl Scouts also purchased many prizes at a deep discount from The Christmas Tree Shop. “We wanted to make sure as many girls as possible got a prize,” said troop advisor Deborah Citarella.
This was the third year that 7th-grade troop 40547 has run a Bingo event. The organizers say they will probably do it again in 2013 as they are earning money for a future trip to Club Getaway in Connecticut.
