Patrick Sampson Draper died on July 28 in Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 63. Born and raised in King & Queen Court House, VA, Draper lived in Plainfield for most of his adult life. He graduated from Central High School in King and Queen Court House and received a blue seal operator certification from the Union County Vocational-Technical School in Scotch Plains.
Draper served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, later had a 25-year career with American Cyanamid in Bound Brook and worked for the Plainfield Board of Education for 9 years. He belonged to the Rose of Sharon Community Church in Plainfield.
The funeral will be held on July 30 at 7pm in Rose of Sharon Community Church, 825 West Seventh St., Plainfield, preceded by a visitation at 4pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Robert Wood Johnson Cancer and Research Center, Little Albany St., New Brunswick, NJ.
