Handel's Messiah will be presented at the Fanwood Presbyterian Church on Sunday, December 4th at 4 pm under the direction of Thomas Berdos, Director of Music at the Fanwood Church. Singers from multiple local choirs and the Sanctuary Choir of the Fanwood Church will be joined by an orchestra and four talented and widely known vocalists. They include:
Jamie Baer, a soprano, with wide experience as a soloist with several major symphonies across the country and with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. She is also a voice teacher and lives in New Providence with her husband and three children.
Hanne Ladefoged-Dollase, a Mezzo Soprano, trained in opera in Europe. She has performed extensively throughout North America in song recitals and lectures. In the New York area, she has performed with several groups including the St. Cecilia Chorus at Carnegie Hall. She lives in Rockaway, N.J. with her husband and two children.
Brian Ernstes, a Tenor, has won many vocal competitions and has sung roles in Messiah, Verde's Requiem, Aida and La Boheme among many others. He is a winner of the New Jersey State Opera Vocal Competition and has become a regular soloist in their Opera Logues and N.J. State Opera Guild Concerts.
Richard Zuch, a Bass, is a frequent soloist performer with many groups including the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Pennsylvania Symphony and the Buffalo Philharmonic. As a member of the Philadelphia Singers, he has appeared as a soloist in Bach's St. Matthew, Handel's Messiah and Mozart's Requiem. He is a regular soloist at Ocean Grove.
Tickets for this performance of Messiah are on sale for $20. To order tickets send a check payable to Fanwood Presbyterian Church, Memo Messiah with a stamped self addressed envelope to P.O. Box 69 Fanwood NJ 07023.
Designations as a Patron of this Messiah performance are available. The Patrons will receive two tickets and their names will be printed in the program. To become a Patron please send a $75 check with a self addressed stamped envelope to the above address.
