Beloved local veterinarian and loyal friend, Dr. Pamela Duddy, of North Plainfield, passed away on Friday, April 13 of lung cancer. She was 47.
Dr. Duddy served animal lovers in this community for over 15 years as a veterinarian at Fanwood Animal Hospital, becoming the owner of the practice in 2008. Duddy was an active volunteer at numerous rabies clinics and animal shelters. She also volunteered at the Make-A-Wish foundation.
Duddy graduated Valedictorian from Mount Saint Mary’s Academy in 1983 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University in 1987. She graduated from the Cornell School of Veterinary Medicine in 1991.
Dr. Duddy passed away in the Scotch Plains home of Peggy Coloney. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Eunice (nee Scullion) Duddy. She is survived by an amazing circle of friends, her three sisters; Marianne (Becky) Duddy – Burke, Eileen Zimmerman, and Joanne Duddy, her five nieces Nicole Duddy, Emily Duddy-Burke, Rebecca Zimmerman, Fini Duddy-Burke, and Jessica Zimmerman, as well as her Great Aunt and Godmother, Anne Scullion.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17 at Mount St. Mary’s Chapel located at 1643 Route 22 West and Terrill Road in Watchung. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, April 16 at the Rossi Funeral Home at 1937 Westfield Avenue in Scotch Plains, across from Quick Chek.
