Campaign Press Release: Democrats Launch Videos
The following message was distributed via email by Donna Dolce on Sept. 19.
Fanwood Democratic Candidates, Mayor Colleen Mahr, Councilman Russell Huegel and Council Candidate Kevin Boris have added short videos to the Fanwood Democrats website at www.fanwooddems.com as one additional way for Fanwood voters to get to know the local candidates. Residents will be able to hear from the candidates first hand on a variety of topics ranging from property tax issues, shared services, downtown redevelopment, and such quality of life issues as public safety, recreation and our cultural arts programs.
“Using the technology of the internet and video’s allows us to speak to the voters about issues that are important to them and hear first-hand about what we have done and what we plan to do in the future,” Mayor Mahr said.
Candidate Boris added, “the candidates will continue their door-to-door campaign, as has been our practice in the past. Speaking directly with the voters is always best so we can have a two way conversation, however, the use of videos on the internet will allow voters who were not at home to see and hear our message directly.”
Voters can also email their questions and concerns to one or all of the candidates. “Depending on the issue,” added Councilman Huegel, “voters will receive either a personalized response or we can use that topic as a basis for recording additional videos.”
New videos will be added throughout the campaign up to Election Day. The website also contains additional information about the candidates, as well as a variety of forms including voter registration and Vote-by-Mail forms. College students or adults that will be away from Fanwood on Election Day or the elderly who might find it difficult to travel to the polls are encouraged to apply for Vote-by-Mail forms to ensure their vote is recorded and their voice is heard.
“This local election should be very important to each and every Fanwood resident and we will continue to prove throughout this campaign why we are best team to keep moving Fanwood forward " Mahr concluded, “and we continue to ask for your support on Election Day.”
