F-SP Daisy Girl Scouts Enjoy Father-Daughter Dance

The event was part of an older scout's final project.

Between the February snowstorms, 160 Fanwood-Scotch Plains Daisy Girl Scouts and their fathers or father-figures gathered for a "Me & My Guy" Dance at St. Bartholomew's School gymnasium.

The event was planned by Cadette Girl Scout Kayla Kocha as a final project for her Silver Award. Kayla organized other members of Cadette troop 40618 to make corsages, decorations, and refreshments for the event. The Cadettes and dozens of other volunteers worked tirelessly before and during the dance to make sure everyone had a good time. Photos were taken of each Daisy and her escort, and a disc jockey kept the crowd dancing.

Two more "Me & My Guy" dances will be held during March for older Fanwood-Scotch Plains Girl Scouts.

Fanwood-Scotch Plains is home to more than 800 Girl Scouts from kindergarten through high school. Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey serves Union, Somerset, Hudson and Essex Counties and parts of Middlesex and Warren Counties. For more information on Girl Scouts in Fanwood-Scotch Plains, go here.
