It was at least 95 degrees on Thursday evening, but that didn’t stop hundreds of proud parents, dedicated faculty, and close family and friends from packing into the bleachers to watch 369 high school seniors become Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School Alumni.

The following video captures the most memorable highlights of the 2012 Commencement. From Board of Education President Trip Whitehouse’s haiku, to the choir’s performance of “In My Life,” and the touching speeches, all of your favorite moments are right here on Scotch Plains-Fanwood Patch. Don’t forget to check out the full photo gallery of the ceremony, and read the Valedictorian and Class President addresses here.

It’s been a great year for the class of 2012 – you won State Sectional Championships here in New Jersey and numerous music awards in Boston, welcomed students from Barcelona, and performed in “Anything Goes.” As you embark on your next great journey, don’t forget about the hundreds here who sat in the blistering heat, cheering you on as you got your diploma, and threw your cap in the air. Congratulations, Class of 2012! SPF has got your back.
