DESCRIPTION:Little Women The Musical at The Academy for Performing Arts i
 n Scotch Plains\n&nbsp\;\nOne of America's most beloved novels\, "Little
  Women"\, by Louisa May Alcott comes to life in a musical by Mindi Dicks
 tein\, and Jason Howland at the Academy for Performing Arts this March.&
 nbsp\; A cast of 21 talented high school performers represents several t
 owns in Union County performing in the Academy's second musical producti
 on. &nbsp\;The production is directed by Juan Pineda\, a Broadway vetera
 n who has been directing and teaching throughout New Jersey for several 
 years and Valerie Pineda\, founder of the Pineda Lyric Opera\, and a pro
 fessional opera singer\, music director\, and director. &nbsp\; &ldquo\;
 I'm so excited to see APA's production of Little Women-the students have
  shown tremendous dedication as they continue to refine their craft whil
 e working with their teachers and our professional artist in residence\,
  the Pineda Conservatory. &nbsp\;APA takes great pride in providing stud
 ents with professional training as they follow their journey in the perf
 orming arts\," stated APA&rsquo\;s principal Mr. Scott Rubin.\n&nbsp\;\n
 Based on Louisa May Alcott's own family experiences and novel\, Little W
 omen follows the adventures of Jo\, Meg\, Beth and Amy March as they gro
 w up in Civil War America. &ldquo\;The story of the March sisters is tim
 eless and deals with issues as relevant today as when they were written.
  Little Women was a great choice for APA. &nbsp\;We are teaching the stu
 dents a classic story with characters of strength and depth\," said dire
 ctor Juan Pineda.\n&nbsp\;&ldquo\;This has been a great learning experie
 nce for the entire cast.&nbsp\; We are celebrating the lives of all wome
 n -the home-maker\, the worker\, the mother\, the sister\, the wife\, an
 d the friend\,&rdquo\; said Ms. Pineda.&nbsp\; Attendees will be welcome
 d by a lobby museum honoring great women in United States history create
 d by the APA cast and volunteers.&nbsp\; The museum will also feature an
  interactive area for young girls and boys to create their own journals\
 , and decorate kites.\n&nbsp\;\nThe talented cast is lead by Giulianna V
 iera as Jo\, with Megan Winey and Madison Riley as Marmee\, Ryan Kiel as
  Laurie\, Katie Lafemina as Beth\, Camila Bermudez and Samantha Tropper 
 as Meg\, Steven Del Col as John Brooks\, Morgan Kelleher as Amy\, Connor
  Buckley as Mr. Lawrence\, Andrea Moore as Aunt March\, and Daniel Cohen
  as Professor Bhaer. The supporting cast includes Jake Robbins as Mr. Br
 axton\, Ellie Clark as Rodrigo\, Allison Alexander as the Troll\, Deyani
 ra Bazan as the Knight\, Olivia Dalessandro as the Monk\, Claire Meehan 
 and Emily Zimmerman as the Hag/Mrs. Kirk\, Skye Pasek as the Hag\, and A
 manda Velazquez as Clarissa.\n&nbsp\;\nLittle Women opens on Thursday\, 
 March 29th at 7:30 pm and other performances include Friday\, March 30th
  at 7:30 pm and Saturday\, March 31st at 2 pm &amp\; 7:30 pm. &nbsp\;The
  performances will be held at the Black Box Theatre\, Academy for Perfor
 ming Arts\, Union County Vocational-Technical Schools at 1776 Raritan Ro
