DESCRIPTION:Union County Freeholders is hosting a Computer and Electronic
 s Collection Event  for Union County residents only.&nbsp\; This event w
 ill take place  today\,  Saturday\, March 31\, 2012 from 9 am - 2 pm at 
 Alcatel/Lucent\, 600  Mountain  Avenue\, New Providence.&nbsp\; NOTE Lim
 it of 6 Electronic Items per car.\n&ldquo\;Computer monitors\, old telev
 isions and other electronic devices are  the source of a considerable am
 ount of dangerous material\, including  lead\, mercury\, cadmium and PCB
 s &ndash\; and it is unlawful to dispose of them  with the regular garba
 ge\,&rdquo\;  said Freeholder Christopher Hudak\, liaison to the Union C
 ounty Solid  Waste Advisory Board.&nbsp\; &ldquo\;Up to 95 percent of mo
 st electronic appliances  can be recycled. This is a responsible way to 
 keep hazardous heavy  metals out of our environment.&rdquo\;\nElectronic
  equipment that will be accepted on March 31st includes  computer monito
 rs\, hard drives\, modems\, keyboards\, CPU&rsquo\;s\, mice\,  printers\
 , scanners\, speakers\, televisions\, VCR&rsquo\;s\, fax machines\,  tel
 ephones\, circuit boards\, CD&rsquo\;s\, DVD&rsquo\;s and  video cassett
 es.\nAll that residents need to do is drive to the site with their  unwa
 nted electronic equipment.&nbsp\; Workers at the site will unload the  v
 ehicles.&nbsp\; Pre-registration is not required for this special Saturd
 ay collection.\nNOTE: Refrigerators\, washers and dryers\, microwaves\, 
 and air conditioners will not be accepted.\nA complete list of the mater
 ials that will be accepted on March 31 is  available at the Union County
