  of Mary Parish in Scotch Plains will once again host a series of Script
 ure Lectures &ldquo\;With a Twist&rdquo\; starting Monday March 12 and c
 ontinuing for the two following Mondays.\nPaul Gibbons\, a Lecturer on S
 acred Scripture at Seton Hall University and Chairman of the Sr. Rose Th
 ering Fund for Education in Jewish-Christian Studies\, will present a se
 ries of three talks on the Gospel of Mark in the&nbsp\;Fr. Byrne Auditor
 ium\, immediately beneath the Main Church.&nbsp\; All the lectures will 
 begin at 7:30pm.&nbsp\; They are free and open to all.\nThe Gospel of Ma
 rk\, first of the four in the Catholic canon to be written and the brief
 est\, was composed&nbsp\; around 70 AD at a time of much uncertainty for
  both Jewish and Christian communities throughout the Mediterranean&nbsp
 \; region.&nbsp\; The challenge faced by disciples of both faiths was on
 e of identity in the face of persecution\, one summarized for Christians
  both then and now with the simple question\, &ldquo\;Who do people say 
 that I am?&rdquo\;&nbsp\; Mark attempts to answer that question with a c
 oncise narrative that culminates with the Passion Story of Holy Week\, a
 nd a glorious aftermath on Easter which strives to strengthen the faith 
 of readers in the face of their own troubles.\nNOTE:&nbsp\; The talk ori
 ginally scheduled for Monday March 19 has been cancelled\; the series ha
 s been pushed back and will conclude on Monday\, April 2.\n&nbsp\;\n&nbs
