Jeffrey Romond to Speak about Financial Planning for College

Jeffrey Romond, co-founder and managing partner for St. George Financial Partners, will conduct presentations this month at the Union Public Library and Summit Area YMCA to help families prepare financially for college.  The talks will review techniques parents can use to shrink the cost of college and maximize financial aid.

Romond will be speaking on Tuesday, April 17 at 7 pm at the Union Public Library, 1980 Morris Ave. in Union. The following night, Wednesday, April 18 at 7 pm, he will give a talk at the Summit Area YMCA, 67 Maple St. in Summit. Both talks are free and open to the public.

 “The complexities of life today seem to be so much more demanding for parents, and the rising cost of higher education adds to this.  There seems to be so much information out there but its hard assimilating it all with the limited time we have,” Romond said.  “As a financial advisor, I am often asked by parents how to pay for college, or what is the best way to pay for college.  So the idea of a general presentation the public may help sort out some of these issues and provide direct answers to a very complex situation.”

The presentation will cover how to determine your expected family contribution toward the cost of college, as well as tips you can use when filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.  It will also provide useful information on grants, athletic scholarships and helpful college websites.
