Parents and Kids Celebrate The High Holy Days With Jews Clues!

This year, Temple Sholom of Fanwood/Scotch Plains offers a new twist on its popular Jews Clues program. The new “Celebration Series,” which is designed for children ages 2 to 4 with a caregiver, will explore holidays, stories and traditions through play, music, arts and crafts.
The first of this series, “High Holy Days,” will take place on Sunday, September 25. Sessions take place several Sunday mornings this year at Union Catholic High School in Scotch Plains. Cost is $15 per session or $50 for the full series for non-members.
“When the families arrive each morning, they go on a hunt for the three ‘Jews clues’ hidden around the room,” explains Director of Education Michelle Shapiro Abraham. “When they find the clues, they figure out together what Jewish holiday they are learning about that day.” After participating in this first class, families will take home a special kid-friendly wall calendar so that they can celebrate together all year long.
All families are welcome to participate in this exceptional program. Temple membership or any previous knowledge of Judaism is not required. The Jews Clues Celebration Series offers a wonderful way to get to know other young families while gaining tools to bring Judaism into your home. About Temple Sholom
Founded in 1913, Temple Sholom is a Reform Jewish Congregation led by Rabbi Joel N. Abraham. The Temple and its religious school is home to about 250 families from the greater Scotch Plains-Fanwood area.
