DESCRIPTION:Atlantic Health Cares Overlook Hospital facility Located in S
 ummit\, NJ is presenting &ldquo\;Rarely Appreciated"\, a photography exh
 ibition of Michael McKenna.&nbsp\; The exhibit curated by Michael Fenton
  opens April 19th and will run until early July 2012.&nbsp\; The show ca
 n be found on the second floor or the Medical Art Center (MAC) building 
 1 of the Overlook Hospital campus.&nbsp\;\nIf my photography has an obje
 ctive it&rsquo\;s this: acquire the rarely appreciated environments we a
 re surrounded by everyday\, but are to busy to enjoy and treasure.&nbsp\
 ; Weather it a series of antique train station lamps\, two men silhouett
 ed in a foggy station to a series of tree set in the fog.&nbsp\; Whateve
 r the location or subject matter\, I hope these images conjure up unanti
 cipated feelings in the observer.\nI usually shoot in black &amp\; white
 \, my prints are on metallic paper\, as I believe both of these elements
  add depth\, detail and a more dramatic effect.&nbsp\; This dramatic eff
 ect seems to grab the casual observer by jumping out at them and drawing
  them into the image.\nMy goal is to stimulate the viewer so they study 
 the image more closely and observe the smaller details - Michael F. McKe
 nna\nMichael F. McKenna is a self taught photographer who has honed the 
 technical aspect of his art over the last fifteen years.&nbsp\; By readi
 ng\, trial and error\, and studying the masters of Landscape photograph\
 , he has developed his own style based on natural lighting and heavy con
 trast.&nbsp\; With this\, his work runs from the classic landscape shot 
 to the surreal life-like look of an inanimate object.\nMr. McKenna is ba
 sed out New Jersey and has been creating photographic artwork as an inde
 pendent photographer for the last 4 years.&nbsp\; His work can be seen i
 n several local galleries and is also held in multiple private collectio
 ns throughout the United States.\n&nbsp\;
