DESCRIPTION:The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA together with the Scotch Plain
 s-Fanwood PTA Council are pleased to announce they are joining forces an
 d will host a 5K Run and One Mile Fun Walk/Jog/Run on Saturday\, April 2
 8\, 2012 beginning at 8:30 am.&nbsp\; This event will start and end at t
 he Y located at 1340   Martine Avenue in Scotch  Plains.&nbsp\; Their go
 als are &ldquo\;United&rdquo\; to celebrate and provide opportunities fo
 r health and wellness within the Scotch Plains-Fanwood community. Procee
 ds from &ldquo\;United for a Cause&rdquo\; will benefit Scotch Plains-Fa
 nwood PTA Council Health and Wellness Scholarship.\nLivestrong at the Y 
 is a twelve-week physical activity program free to members of our commun
 ity recovering from cancer.&nbsp\; The Livestrong program enables the Fa
 nwood-Scotch Plains YMCA to offer participants educational seminars\, ch
 ildcare assistance and services for financial management.&nbsp\; The pro
 gram focus helps recovering cancer survivors\; &ldquo\;get their lives b
 ack&rdquo\; physically\, mentally and spiritually.&nbsp\; We want to giv
 e survivors the tools to continue their journey of health and wellness b
 eyond the twelve-week program.&nbsp\; The &ldquo\;United for a Cause&rdq
 uo\; 5K is a healthy community event that will &ldquo\;give&rdquo\; back
  to our local families and students.&nbsp\; Many of our local students c
 hoose to pursue a career in the health and wellness field and this event
  will acknowledge a student(s) positive intentions by providing scholars
 hip monies to put towards their college\, school or training program cos
 ts.&nbsp\; By providing financial support we hope to foster their desire
  to make our world a healthier place.\nThe One Mile Fun Walk/Jog/Run wil
 l begin at 8:30 am with the 5K beginning at 9:15 am.&nbsp\; A $10 Fun Ru
 n Registration Fee will be required to those who want to participate.&nb
 sp\; A $25 5K Registration Fee will apply to interested participants for
  this run.&nbsp\; Proceeds from this race will help to support the Lives
 trong at the Y and to support a high school scholarship for a student pu
 rsuing Health and Wellness.&nbsp\; Individual donations can also be made
  to benefit the fund.&nbsp\; Children under the age of 10 must be accomp
 anied by an adult. No Pets Allowed on the Course(s).\nYou can register a

 e check in and package pick up for this event being held at the Fanwood-
 Scotch Plains YMCA facility on April 27\, 2012 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm.&n
 bsp\; All registered runners and walkers should pick up their packets on
