Children's Groups at the Library, Networking at Nick's Pizza, Free Cooking Class at RWJ

What's happening today in Scotch Plains and Fanwood.

Scotch Plains library children's groups meet: The library hosts three children's groups today. At 9:30 a.m., "Little Listeners" is designed for children from infants through 23 months and features activities that will promote language development and an enjoyment of books and reading. At 10:30, "Terrific Twos" features stories, songs and movement activities to promote language development, pre-reading skills and an enjoyment of reading. At 2 p.m., "Creative Kids" offers craft activities connected to stories geared for children ages 3 through 6.

Networking at Nick's Pizza: 
The Fanwood Business and Professional Association is hosting a networking night at Nick's Pizza in Fanwood at 6:30 p.m. 

Free healthy cooking class: RWJ Rahway Fitness in Scotch Plains talks "Freekah, Faro and More Ancient Grains" at a free, open-to-the-public cooking class at 7 p.m. Diane Weeks, registered dietician and chef, will show you how to prepare different types of grains as main dishes, sides and salads. Learn how grains like faro, quinoa, and freekah fill you up and provide important nutrients and fiber. Program provides samples, recipes, tips and techniques. Jewish Federation Youth Leadership night out: 
Beat It is a night out for young adults 25-45 presented by the Young Leadership Division of Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ. The evening includes cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and dessert — and a special appearance by Drum Cafe. On Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Wilf Jewish Community Campus. 

Have a 'Tini Tuesday: Tuesdays are martini night at the Stage House in Scotch Plains. All martinis on the menu are $5 all day long.
