Temple Sholom To Hold An Evening of Art Song

On Saturday, May 10, at 8 p.m., Temple Sholom of Fanwood/Scotch Plains will host “An Evening of Art Song” featuring Tenor Scott Six with Temple Sholom Cantor Darcie Sharlein and Pianist James Horan.  Music that evening will include works by Strauss, Schubert, Wölf, Blitzstein, Cipullo and more.

 

Six has appeared with numerous major opera houses including Portland Opera, Glimmerglass Opera and Opera Omaha. Recent credits include Bacchus in “Ariadne Auf Naxos” with Winter Opera St. Louis and Verdi's Requiem with the Charlottesville and Univeristy Symphony Orchestra. In 2010, Six was awarded First Prize in the Wagner Division of the Liderkranz Foundation Vocal Competition.

 

Tickets cost $25 in advance, $30 at the door. Call 908-889-4900.  Proceeds to benefit Temple Sholom.

 

Concert begins at 8 p.m. Temple Sholom is located in the Fanwood Presbyterian Church at the corner of Martine and LaGrande Avenues in Fanwood, NJ. Meet in the chapel around the corner, off Marian Avenue. Please enter through the door on Marian marked Temple Sholom.
