Plainfield Symphony Announces its 94th Season

 

The Plainfield Symphony Orchestra is pleased to present its 94th subscription concert season. Join the PSO as it continues to bring exciting, world-class performances under the direction of esteemed Music Director Charles Prince who returns to the podium to present works which span the spectrum of symphonic music.

Autumnal Splendor is the theme for our opening concert on October 12th which features Korngold's most popular Violin Concerto in D major and Brahms' cheerful Symphony No.2, along with our very own concertmaster Evelyn Estava as soloist.

Ringing in the holiday season, the PSO will perform a Holiday Pops Concert on December 7th. This concert will celebrate the music of American composer and songwriter Cy Coleman and Friends.

 

On February 8th the PSO's Annual Free Family Concert will feature the New Jersey Young Pianist Competition Gold Medal Winner, Helen Shen, performing Bach Piano Concerto in G Minor.

 

Spring Awakenings ushers in the new season on March 29th with the Saint-Saëns' Organ Symphony No. 3 highlighting Plainfield's own Ronald Thayer on organ and Claudia Hu, New Jersey Young Pianist Competition Silver Medal Winner, performing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 12, K414.

 

May 3rd marks the culmination of the concert season with its grand finale entitled, Magnificent Mahler, showcasing Mahler's monumental Symphony No. 5.
