On July 4th, the Willow Grove Swim Club held its first annual Swim-a-thon to benefit the LiveSTRONG program at the Fanwood Scotch Plains YMCA. The LiveSTRONG program at the YMCA engages cancer survivors through an approach that focuses on the whole person. Participants work with trained Y staff to rebuild muscle mass and strength, increase flexibility and endurance and improve functional ability. The program also focuses on the emotional well-being of survivors and their families by providing a supportive community environment. For more information regarding the LiveSTRONG program at the Y, please contact Sheri Cognetti at 908-889-8880 x114.
