18 Union County Municipalities To Receive Local Aid Grants, Including Scotch Plains

In an effort to help municipalities complete local transportation projects without putting the burden on taxpayers, the Christie Administration has award $81.6 million worth of NJDOT funded grants to 391 municipalities in New Jersey. The Municipal Aid Grant program received 653 applications, totaling $255 million worth of road work. 

The following Union County municipalities will be receiving the grants - click here to see the full list of recipients: 

- Clark Township: Broadway and Terminal Avenue - $195,000
- Cranford: South Union Avenue - $115,000
- Elizabeth City: E Jersey St., Winfield Scott Plaza, Monroe Ave - $224,000
- Fanwood Borough: Burns Way - $250,000
- Garwood Borough: Various Streets - $225,000
- Hillside Township: Westminster Avenue - $63,160
- Kenilworth Borough: Various Streets - $225,000
- Linden City: Various Streets - $250,000
- Mountainside Borough: Cedar Avenue - $201,195
- New Providence Borough: Union Avenue - $250,000
- Plainfield City: Second Street - $285,000
- Rahway City: Various Streets - $225,000
- Roselle Borough: Various Streets - $250,000
- Roselle Park Borough: West Colfax Avenue - $225,000
- Scotch Plains Township: West Broad Street, Section 2 - $244,000
- Summit City: Various Streets - $250,000
- Union Township: Walker Avenue, Section 2 - $250,000
- Westfield Township: Westfield Avenue, Section 4 $150,000
