Fanwood-Scotch Plains Girl Scouts Enjoy "Me and My Guy" Dances

The Annual "Me and My Guy" Dances are a highlight of the year for the Girl Scouts.

The following information was provided by the Fanwood-Scotch Plains Girl Scouts.

A highlight of the year for Fanwood-Scotch Plains Girl Scouts is the annual “Me and My Guy Dance,” attended by girls with their fathers or other male adult. This year there were again three dances, each giving Girl Scouts in a different age group a chance to get dressed up in their finest attire and party with their friends. Food, prizes and dancing to music provided by a DJ were featured at all three events. Families of all attendees will receive a portrait photo of their Girl Scout and her escort.

Girl Scouts in fourth grade and older enjoyed the first dance, held at the end of January at Connell Corporate Center in Berkeley Heights. More than 100 couples enjoyed music and a catered buffet.

Daisy Girl Scouts, in kindergarten and first grade, had to shift their dance date a few days due to snow, but nevertheless enjoyed their February event at Union Catholic High School. More than 150 couples attended and enjoyed the festive, balloon-filled atmosphere.

The 2013 dance season ended in early March when more than 150 Brownie Girl Scouts, grades 2-3, and their favorite guys gathered at Union Catholic for a dance with a “Masquerade” theme.
