Over $10,000 raised by Fanwood Memorial Library Book Sale

The Friends of the Fanwood Memorial Library surpass their fundraising goal.

On Sept. 20-24, the Friends of the Fanwood Memorial Library held their annual book sale at Forest Road Park.

The Friends of the Fanwood Memorial Library's goal for their annual book sale was $10,000, according to Thena Rosahl of the Friends of the Fanwood Memorial Library.

The sale made over $10,000 according to Rosahl, although the specific amount has not been calculated due to some expenses.

Rosahl said the success was possible for three reasons.

The first being, the generous donations of books and DVDs from residents.

Second, the numerous hours of work put it by volunteers. From receiving and sorting the donated materials to running the book sale itself.

The work was accomplished by over 40 volunteers from Fanwood, Scotch Plains, and Westfield.

And last, the local residents and book dealers who made purchases at the sale.
