Here's a look at what's happening in Scotch Plains and Fanwood this week.


Monday


The Scotch Plains Planning board will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the Scotch Plains Municipal Building.

is a new program by Sharon Goldner of Fanwood’s Wellness Group.  It is a six-session program helping people take control of their health and their lives. The cost is $240 ($40 per 90-minute session) at 7:30 p.m. at The Wellness group above Fanwood Cleaners on Martine Avenue. For more information or to register call 908.242.3763.
 
Tuesday

The next dinner meeting of the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners will take place at 6 p.m. at Stage House in Scotch Plains. The cost for members is $35 and $45 for non-members. Click here to buy tickets. http://www.whoscoming.com/njawbo-region2/

The Scotch Plains Council will hold their Business/Conference meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the Scotch Plains Municipal Building.

Why We Dance, will be offering free hip-hop classes at La Grande Park from 7p.m. to 8p.m. Classes are open to everyone. Register at whywedance@gmail.com or by calling 908.432.2003. 

The PTA will hold a Roundtable with Board of Education at 7:30 p.m. at Terrill Middle School.

Wednesday

At 9 a.m. AARP Tax-aide is offering free tax preparation at the Scotch Plains Public Library. Bring a photo ID and all 2012 federal and New Jersey tax forms and a copy of the 2011 federal and state returns. If you receive a pension or annuity, please bring the date that you began to receive payments. To schedule an appointment call 908-322-5007 x201.

The Scotch Plains Management Corporation will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Scotch Plains Municipal Building.

There will be a Fanwood Republican meeting on Wed. January 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Sun Tavern on South Avenue.


Thursday

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday Bigg Playdate will be holding their indoor farmer’s market featuring plenty of food vendors both from the summer market and new vendors.  The market takes place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 1730 East Second Street in Scotch Plains.

Friday

At 7 p.m. the Union County Vo-Tech Schools’ Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) club with hold their annual “Project Hope”. This year the UCVTS FBLA is working with the charity, “OneSight”  www.onesight.org/na/  which aims to provide eye care, to those cannot be able to obtain it under normal circumstances. The cost is $10 in advance and $12 at the door.  Wolf Creek will be performing and tickets can be purchased in advance by contacting Mrs. Janet Kneisel at jkneisel@ucvts.tec.nj.us.
