— The Pineda Conservatory Center Stage performers are proud to present "Let's Go To The Movies," a musical tribute to the Silver Screen. The cast of 37 students from throughout NJ auditioned in February to participate in a show filled with favorite movie songs spanning over 100 years. The performance will be held at the new air-conditioned Cranford Dramatic Club Theater at 9 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. For tickets call 908-731-1377. — The Trailside Nature and Science Center is hosting weekly solar watches. Amateur Astronomers, Inc., AAI and members from the Miller Sperry Observatory, Cranford will be on hand for this event. Ray Shapp of the AAI will conduct weekly solar viewing sessions with the use of a Hydro-Alpha 60 mm sidewalk astronomy telescope. The solar viewing session will involve a discussion on the safety issues of looking at the sun. Sessions will last approximately one hour and are free, weather permitting. — Enlow Recital Hall is hosting the Foulger International Music Festival 2012 Summer Series. — The Quick Chek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning in Association with PNC Bank, the largest summertime hot air balloon and music festival in North America, celebrates its 30th festival July 27-28-29, 2012. The three-day Festival at Solberg Airport in Readington in Hunterdon County features twice a day mass ascensions of more than 100 sport and special shaped hot air balloons from around the world, live concerts, and 39 hours of family entertainment and attractions. — The Luna Stage presents 'The Luna Fusion Fest, The Heart and Soul of Rock and Jazz.' This event will take place the last weekend in July and will initiate a new tradition in the Valley Arts District, as Luna Stage opens its doors to electric jazz and big band rock. Fans of arena rock, bebop, big bands and jam bands are all welcome to join some of New York’s busiest studio musicians, composers, and teachers for two days of futuristic nostalgia. — The Pineda Conservatory Starlight Theater performers are proud to present Cinderella Kids! Cinderalla Kids features a talented cast of students from Cranford, Westfield, Fanwood and Scotch Plains. This family friendly show is presented on Saturday, July 28 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Cranford Dramatic Club Theater. Tickets are $8 for all seats. — Visit one of the largest, most detailed railroad models in the area. A new garden railroad is being developed to join the N-scale and HO-scale layouts already in operation. The HO layout measures 128' x 68' - with new track being laid and new cities coming to life on a weekly basis. The N-scale railroad is double layer, great for the little ones. — The Union County’s Watchung Stable is offering guided trail rides at the Watchung Reservation for riding enthusiasts nine years of age and older. These rides are held on Sundays during the summer at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., weather permitting. Groups of 15 or more people ride along the bridle trails in part of the 2,065-acre Reservation in Mountainside. The rides are on a first come, first served basis and are available to people nine years of age and older, with or without experience. Cost is $28 in-county - $39 out-of-county.
