Admission is $10 to view movie only, $20 to attend barbecue party and movie. Tickets are available online atwww.ucpac.org, by phone at (732) 381-2400 or at UCPAC box office, 1601 Irving Street, Rahway, and Liberty Harley-Davidson, 12 Milton Avenue, Rahway.

Why We Ride has been described as “an 89-minute love song to the sport of motorcycling in all its forms”. Directed by documentary master Bryan Carroll and featuring stunning cross-country cinematography, Why We Ride celebrates the passion and camaraderie of friends and families for the two-wheeled machine that has come to symbolize so much of the American Spirit.

Rahway Bike Night also serves as opening night for a special art exhibit titled Art of the Ride: The Fine Motorcycle and Auto Art of Allan Gorman and Anne Goffin Smith.

Gorman and Smith are nationally renowned fine artists whose paintings transform inanimate automotive subjects into vivid expressions of character and soul. The exhibit runs May 8-26 at Hamilton Stage and Union County Performing Arts Center.

“Our aim with Rahway Bike Night is to show the widescale role motorcycles and automobiles play in our collective cultural experience,” says Union County Performing Arts Center executive director Lawrence McCullough. “The Hot Rods & Harleys festival isn’t just a car show; it’s a celebration of modern urban community via film, music, food and art.”

In addition to hosting Hot Rods & Harleys each year in downtown Rahway, Liberty Harley-Davidson/Buell supports numerous local charities including Friends of the Linden Animal Shelter, Rahway Food for Friends and New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home at Menlo Park.
