Brave the Heat to Feel Comfortably Numb: Pink Floyd Tribute Band Plays Echo Lake Park Tonight

The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Temperatures are predicted to hover around 80 degrees through 9 p.m.

The Union County Summer Arts Festival 2010 concert series continues Wednesday night when "The Machine" performs the music of Pink Floyd, the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders announced in a press release distributed June 24. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. in Echo Lake Park on the border of Mountainside and Westfield.

The Machine is perhaps the world's most popular Pink Floyd tribute band. It has performed across North America, Central America, Europe and Asia, according to the press release. Known for performing a diverse mix of Pink Floyd's extensive repertoire, including popular hits and obscure gems, the New York-based band focuses on making every show an authentic Floydian event for their fans.

"Bring the entire family for an evening of Pink Floyd improvisation in Echo Lake Park," Freeholder Chairman Sullivan said in the release. "Pack a picnic basket, bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on, and enjoy an elaborate show under the stars."
