Collection For Annual SP Public Library Book Sale To Begin in January

Beginning Jan. 19, The Friends of the Scotch Plains Public Library will be collecting goods for their annual book sale to benefit programs and development of the library.


The following information was provided by the Friends of the Scotch Plains Public Library.


The Friends of the Scotch Plains Public Library next month will begin collecting items for its upcoming Book Sale in March.

The organization is seeking clean, salable books with no torn or marked pages. Both hardcovers and paperbacks will be accepted, as well as books on CD, music CDs and DVDs. The Friends request that donations do not include older or time-sensitive materials such as videotapes, records, magazines and textbooks.

The scheduled collection times are as follows:

Saturday, Jan. 19 - 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. 
Sunday, Jan. 20 - 12-3 p.m. 
Saturday, Jan. 26 - 9 a.m - 3 p.m. 
Sunday, Jan. 27 - 12-3 p.m. 
Saturday, Feb. 2 - 9 a.m.-3 p.m. 
Saturday, Feb. 9 - 9 a.m.-3 p.m. 
Saturday, Feb. 16 - 9 a.m.-3 p.m. 
Sunday, Feb. 17 - 12-3 p.m. 
Saturday, Feb. 23 - 9 a.m.-3 p.m. 
Sunday, Feb. 24 - 12-3 p.m. 
Saturday, March 2 - 9 am.-3 p.m.

Members of the Friends will be available at each of these times to assist with transporting of the books from cars. Volunteers are more than welcome to aid with book sorting during any of these times.

The Friends are a 501c(3) non-profit organization devoted to supporting the programming and development of the library. Donations are tax-deductible and receipts are available at the front desk.
