In recent days, Scotch Plains saw a heat wave, followed by severe thunderstorms.
Despite this, as well as threats of an approaching storm, audiences enjoyed ideal conditions during the second installment of the .
"You know, despite the weather, the band is great, they've got people moving, and it's really an enjoyable concert," said Liz Arnold, Scotch Plains resident.
The evening kicked off at 6:30 p.m. with children's performer Eva The Diva, followed by Funktion 11's two-set performance at 7:30 p.m.
The concert series runs most Thursdays until August 16, with the exception of Tuesday, August 7 for National Night Out, replacing an August 9 performance.
Performances will be held on the Alan Augustine Village Green, located adjacent to the Municipal Building at 430 Park Avenue, Scotch Plains.
