2011 Spring Jewish Film Festival - JCC Central NJ

The JCC of Central NJ is hosting their 2011 Jewish Film Festival.  The second film in this three film series is Jews and Baseball: An American Love Story.  This film will be shown on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 with two showings, 11:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.  The AMC Theaters 10, 1021 Us Highway 22, Mountainside, NJ is the venue for these screenings.  Special Guest: NY Yankee Ron Blomberg and author Dan Schlossberg will be in attendance at both the 11:00 a.m. matinee and the 7:30 p.m. shows.  FREE admission to the first 100 Camp Yachad 2011 campers (limit 2 per adult)!  The films length is 91 minutes and directed by Peter Miller, language is English Country, USA.

Jews and Baseball: An American Love Story brings to life the contributions of Jewish major leaguers and explores the special meaning that baseball has had in the lives of American Jews. More than a film about sports, it is a story of immigration, assimilation, bigotry, heroism, the passing on of traditions and the shattering of stereotypes.  This documentary was scripted by Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times columnist Ira Berkow.
