Carriage House Poetry Series

The Carriage House Poetry Series invites you to attend a free poetry reading on Tuesday, March 16, at 8 p.m. in the Patricia Kuran Arts Center on Watson Road, off North Martine Avenue, adjacent to Fanwood Borough Hall.

The featured readers will be distinguished poets Linda Radice and Skye Van Saun.

Linda Radice is a poet and essayist. Her work has been published in numerous literary journals. She was the second place recipient of the 2007 Allen Ginsberg Award and received an Honorable Mention in 2008. Linda is a member of the Fanwood Arts Council and she is co-director of the PoetsWednesday reading series at the Barron Arts Center in Woodbridge. She is a paralegal and resides in North Plainfield. Skye Van Saun received an MFA from Sarah Lawrence College in 2006 and was a Geraldine R. Dodge Festival Poet in 2008. She is the author of a chapbook, "Versus Verses" (River Rat Press, 2008) and a forthcoming memoir, "Moving Violations." A poet, writer and editor, Skye Van Saun teaches poetry master classes in colleges and workshops in prisons. She lives by the Delaware River with her dogs, cats, guitars and a canoe.  (http://skyevansaun.com)

The Carriage House Poetry Series is currently in its 12th year at the Kuran Arts Center, an historic Gothic Revival structure that was once a 19th century carriage house, hence the name of the series.

The March 16th reading is free and open to the public. An open mic will follow the featured performance and audience members are invited to read a poem by a famous poet or one of their own.
