'Godspell Jr' On Stage Dec 3 at St Bartholomew Church

You don’t have to go all the way to Broadway to see its newest musical.  Directed by Lina Zikas, a local Fanwood student, Godspell Jr comes to Scotch Plains.  The full production will be performed by Theatre to All, a charitable theatre company where local kids donate their time and talent with the mission of giving back to the community.   When asked about the show, Ms Zikas says “The show is so full of life - the audience won’t be able to stay in their seats.  I always love to see the reaction of the crowds when they are stunned and overwhelmed by the talent and the commitment of these young local stars.  We never fail to prove to our community that kids are capable of so much more than adults give us credit for!”  Based on the Gospel of St Matthew, and featuring a sparkling score by Stephen Schwartz, Godspell Jr boasts a string of well-loved songs that will have you dancing in your seat.  With free admission, and its message of kindness, tolerance and love, it is hard to imagine a better way to spend a couple of hours with family and friends.  The show is open to groups and parties as well.  All charitable proceeds come right back to the community, and it is great to see our young citizens learning how they can make a difference and providing help to those in need during otherwise challenging times.  With two shows – on December 2nd at 6PM and December 3rd at 2PM in the auditorium of Saint Bartholomew the Apostle Church (2032 Westfield Ave, Scotch Plains) – Godspell Jr is a production that is not to be missed.
