Imperial Brass Performs in Christmas concert at Willow Grove Church

Hear Imperial Brass perform its annual Christmas Concert on Sunday, December 4 at 7:00 p.m. at its home base, Willow Grove Presbyterian Church in Scotch Plains.  Imperial Brass is a 30-piece brass ensemble known throughout New Jersey for performing a diverse array of musical numbers. The concert will feature favorite Christmas classics.

Originally formed under the auspices of Rutgers University, Imperial Brass has been performing  in the Metropolitan New York and Tri State area with concerts and performances in churches, band festivals, schools and universities since 1991.  Their repertoire includes classical, pop, Broadway and movie music, feature solo items and big band jazz classics.  Imperial Brass in its short history of 20 years, has twice won the Northeastern Brass Band Competition held at West Point Military Academy and performed at the N.Y. Brass Conference for Scholarships. .

Imperial Brass has recorded four CDs, including Bone-A-Fide Brass with Joseph Alessi, principal trombone with the N.Y. Philharmonic, and Have Yourself a Brassy Little Christmas. Their goal is to introduce audiences everywhere to the wonderful world of brass.

Tickets are on sale in advance and at the door.  Ticket prices are $15, seniors and students tickets are $12, and children 12 and under are free. Following the concert, a reception with light refreshments will be held in Alexander Hall. The concert will take place in the sanctuary of Willow Grove Presbyterian Church, 1961 Raritan Road in Scotch Plains.
