Imperial Brass to Perform Father's Day Concert at Willow Grove Church

Hear Imperial Brass perform musical favorites from movies and other well-known classics on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at 7 p.m. at it's home base, Willow Grove Presbyterian Church in Scotch Plains.  The 30-piece Imperial Brass is widely acclaimed for performing a diverse array of musical numbers.  Celebrate Father’s Day listening to “Over the Rainbow” and other favorites, such as “76 Trombones”.

Featured soloist Mitch Brodsky will play “The Godfather Waltz” and a treasured piece by Herbert L. Clark, considered the “father” of the cornet.  You will enjoy the well-known “Figaro in Stereo” from Rossini, which will be performed as a tuba duet.  Imperial Brass, with its new conductor Larry Markiewicz, will also be featuring songs by Leroy Anderson and from British classics. Join us for this spring festival of music, and don’t forget to bring a father, especially your own.  A gift will be presented to the oldest father attending.

Imperial Brass has been performing in the Metropolitan New York and Tri State area with concerts and performances in churches, band festivals, schools and universities since 1991.  Their repertoire includes classical, pop, Broadway and movie music, feature solo items and big band jazz classics.  Imperial Brass in its short history of 20 years, has twice won the Northeastern Brass Band Competition held at West Point Military Academy and performed at the N.Y. Brass Conference for Scholarships.
