Premiere Stages Presents Spring Readings

Premiere Stages presents four exciting readings of new plays for the 2012 Premiere Stages Play Festival from, Thursday, March 15, 2012 -  Sunday, March 18, 2012.  Two of these plays, chosen from over 400 submissions, will be selected for continued development over the summer.  Audience response is a valuable tool in the selection process.  Evaluation forms are distributed and a talkback with the playwright follows each reading.  Come help Premiere Stages decide which plays will be part of our 2012 summer season!

READINGS are FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!

Handicapped People in Their Formal Attire by Kathryn Grant

In 1968, members of the Delaware Association for the Handicapped kick up their heels with a black tie fundraiser to honor quadriplegic, Agnes Sheehan, who is escorted by her able-bodied cousin, Theresa.  As the tensions of the era erupt outside, a lifetime of pent-up resentment is unleashed between the two women as they confront the true meaning of sacrifice.
