Scotch Plains Public Library will Circulate E-Readers

Thanks to a generous gift from the Friends of the Scotch Plains Public Library, six E-readers are now available for a two-week circulation to Scotch Plains cardholders. The Library has purchased two Kindles, two Kobos, a NookColor and a Nook. They are loaded with titles that are among the most requested from our customers including titles such as The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest, Confession, the Room, Cutting for Stone and Hunger Games. Holds may be placed on the readers, and special requests will be considered for downloads desired by the user. Each reader circulates for two weeks with no renewals at this time.

This is a pilot program to explore how e-readers can be used as an alternative source of reading material. Plans are to load each reader with summer reading titles and various titles chosen by the several book clubs that meet at the library. Presently the program is limited to any Scotch Plains resident card holder or member of the Scotch Plains Friends of the Library over the age of 18 with an account in good standing.

For full details on the program, visit the library’s website at www.scotlib.org and click on the E-Reader post to read the Electronic Reader FAQs or call the library at 908 322-5007.
