Christmas:  Receiving the Gift, Sharing the Gift

What is Christmas about for you? Does it remind you of the presence of God in our lives, not just the presents around the tree.  Join us at The Connection on Saturday, December 18.  View images from around the world of Jesus' birth. Reflect on what it means to receive and then share that gift of love in the world and in our lives.  Christmas is about that mystery, not simply about buying, giving and receiving store-bought gifts.  The gift God gave Mary in Jesus was unexpected.  It first brought fear and confusion but finally hope and joy to her and the world.  The gift of Jesus also brought Joseph fear, possible embarrassment and even likely shunning in his community.  And yet Joseph trusted God and was able to be part of the drama of God's redeeming love.

How can we enjoy this season without getting caught up in the stress?  How can this be a time of God's presence and lasting joy rather than buying presents and more stuff?  What can we do to make this season about being open to God's presence and truth and hope?  What does the Advent Conspiracy offer?  Come to The Connection and find out.
