Michael is a life-long resident of New Jersey who currently lives in Scotch Plains.  He portrays the state and what it really has to offer, from the cities to the farms, from the shore to the suburbs, he has successfully been able to capture a little piece of each

Mr. McKenna is a self taught photographer who has honed the technical aspect of his art over the last fifteen years. By reading, trial and error, and studying the masters of Landscape photography, (i.e. Brett and Edward Weston, Ansel Adams, and most recently Art Wolf), Michael has developed his own style which is based on natural lighting and heavy contrast.  With this, his work runs from the classic landscape shot to the surreal life-like look an inanimate object can have.

His artwork is currently for sale at the Starbucks located in the South Orange train station.  Mr. McKenna's art has been there since April. The customers say it is nice to see local artist work.  It is much better than seeing canned art pieces that you see every day in every Starbucks.   It ads local flavor and supports the local art scene.

His artwork will soon be exhibited on permanent exhibit at the Essex County Equestrian Center and several more Starbuck locations, with several more shared and solo exhibitions in the upcoming months. His work is also held in several private collections.

The Wings Art Gallery is located at 228 South Avenue in the Custom Framing and Gift store across from the Fanwood train station.  You can contact the gallery at 908 288-7004
