Very Special Celtic Concert with Mary Courtney and Morning Star

One week after the big day, keep the St. Patrick's Day spirit going at the Fanwood Memorial Library.

On Wednesday the 24th at 7:30 PM, we're proud to present Mary Courtney & Morning Star. This NY based band plays a compelling combination of Irish Traditional Music & Songs that will make you want get up and dance away your cares. Mary's voice is beautiful, & her songs are heartfelt & sincere. This combination of musicians is a joy to behold with their energy & obvious love of the music.

Morningstar is Mary Courtney on lead vocals, guitar and bodhran (Irish hand-held drum), Bernadette Fee on fiddle and Donie Ryan on the tenor banjo. Mary Courtney hails from a large musical family from Castlegregory, Co. Kerry, Ireland. She formed the band in 1982 in the Bronx and over the years they have recorded several albums, and played on the local & US festival circuits. The current line up is a stellar group of talented musicians whose influences include The Bothy Band, Solas, Lunasa, and Christy Moore (just to name a few). Mary says, "Playing music is our life and we are so grateful for the gift of music that we have been given."
