Scotch Plains Author's Picture Books Introduce Children to Travel, New Cultures

Debbie Doctofsky-Solomon says her two books are "an expedition of learning."

Combining a love of children, reading and travel, Debbie Doctofsky-Solomon of Scotch Plains has published two children's books that she said are “an expedition of learning."

“Journey to the River of Perfumes” and “Hidden in the Himalayas” allow children ages 3-9 to learn about Vietnam and Nepal, respectively, and Solomon told MyCentralJersey.com that she is working on a third book that will take place on Isla Mujeres in Mexico.

“My books have universal themes that apply to everyday life that children all over the world can relate to," said the mom of two young girls. "The stories have positive role models with universal themes that will tug on your heartstrings.”
