Here's what's new this week on the website for Scotch Plains TV, www.scotchplainstv.org, as reported by SPTV webmaster Patrick Kelly:
Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School Graduation 2011
Scotch Plains Television streamed Wednesday's commencement ceremony live online for the first time in district history, Kelly said. Thanks to the support of the Board of Education and the Township of Scotch Plains, as well as the hard-working members of the high school's AV Club, the ceremony was streamed to nearly 300 people who would not have been able to view the graduation otherwise. A replay of the stream is currently available on-demand on the site's homepage.
SPTV Debuts iPod App
SPTV released an iOS app through Apple's App Store on Wednesday. The app allows users to view a live stream of the channel from anywhere in the world, watch on-demand content when connected via a Wi-Fi network, and view a general schedule of the station's upcoming broadcasts. The app is available here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/scotch-plains-tv/id443323137?mt=8&ls=1. Kelly added that SPTV expects to release an identical app for Android devices sometime in mid-July.
