'Tribute to Fallen Heroes' Concert Kicks Off Memorial Day Festivities

The Westfield Community Band will perform patriotic melodies Sunday at the Fanwood train station.

This release was received from the Scotch Plains Fanwood Memorial Day Committee.

Fanwood Mayor Colleen Mahr and Scotch Plains Mayor Kevin Glover are pleased to invite the community to join together to honor our fallen heroes.  This year, we are recognizing the deceased and wounded warriors of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars as well as all other military personnel who lost their lives in service to our country. Our communities are proud to give appropriate recognition of the ultimate sacrifice made by our valiant service men and women.

On Sunday, May 26, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on the northside of the Fanwood train station, the Westfield Community Band, led by Director Thomas Connors will play patriotic melodies, traditional marches and other popular works. Memorial comments delivered by veterans are also included in the program.
