Christie Arrives to Welcoming Crowd in Scotch Plains

Gov. Chris Christie arrived for a Wednesday afternoon stop at the Highlander Restaurant in Scotch Plains and was welcomed by a waiting crowd.

Among the crowd were many people holding signs of support for S2842, the bill inspired by two-year-old Vivian Wilson. The bill would increase access for medicinal marijuana for children like Vivian who suffers from Dravet syndrome, a seizure disorder that has seen improvement with a specific strain of marijuana.

Mayor Kevin Glover was expected to announce his endorsement of the governor's campaign.
