"BBQ & Barchu" at Congregation Beth Israel

Congregation Beth Israel, 18 Shalom Way, Scotch Plains, is hosting their 2nd annual “BBQ & Barchu”.  This event will take place this evening at 6:00pm on the synagogue’s outdoor patio.  A communal singing to welcome the Sabbath will follow.  Our family-friendly services for Friday night will begin at 7:30p.m.  A dessert reception will conclude the evening.  This wonderful family event is open to the community and all are welcome.

Dinner costs $20 for adults, and $12 for children under 12 years old.  For more information, please contact the synagogue office at 908-889-1830.

“Last year’s BBQ was so successful that we decided to make it an annual event,” said Sharon Rockman, event co-chair.  “The casual BBQ dinner, held in early September, is a great way to reconnect with synagogue friends after the summer and to also meet new people as the school year and Jewish New Year begin.  And the outdoor singing is a special way to usher in Shabbat.”
