Fanwood Memorial Library Holds Annual Book Sale

Proceeds benefit events and programs for the community

The Fanwood Memorial Library is holding its annual book sale this weekend, with proceeds benefiting events and programs put on by the library.

Over 4,000 books were donated to the sale, including music and movies.

This Thursday was the preview sale for Friends of the Fanwood Memorial Library.

On Friday and Saturday the sale will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday from 12p.m. to 4p.m.

Sunday is "bag day," which means shoppers will be provided shopping bags that they can fill to the top with books for $5.

In the last two years the library made nearly $9,000 from the sale.

Volunteers spent one week categorizing all of the books.

Next year, the Fanwood Memorial Library encourages people to volunteer from any town.

Due to space restrictions the library cannot keep the books that are not sold, so they look to donate them to organizations that take used books.

In the past they have donated the used books to other libraries, schools and charities.

The sale is located in the Forest Road Park building.
