Sean Flannery and Brian Walter typify the essence of teamwork. Open just one year and two months, Flannery’s Pub is a welcome addition to Scotch Plains-Fanwood. Because of their commitment to their staff and clientele, the partners believe their goal is to constantly give back to their community.

What is even more special is that each of the gentlemen have grown up in Scotch Plains, have graduated from Scotch Plains Fanwood High School, are both married, and raising their children to become perfect advocates for their town.

“There is always a special atmosphere at Flannery’s Pub,” said Rob Laivins of Fanwood. “Sean and Brian always do something great, and they always remember to do something for the community. You can depend on them to continue to sponsor events that benefit our towns.”

“Leave it to Brian to soon bring back The Chippery,” he continued. Those fabulous fish and chips are the heart and soul of our community.”

A fixture at Flannery’s, Mike Matthew's proprietor of Gut Wrenching Cycles in Fanwood quips, “Like an old-fashioned bar, Flannery’s is the place to be. The girls are friendly. The food is delicious, and we always have a great time.”

“I come for the fabulous fish and chips,” adds Drew Hilllman of Ridgewood. They are the absolute best. And of course, coming to Flannery’s is like visiting your family and friends. It’s absolutely the greatest place.”

For Octoberfest 2011, folks gathered under a tent, sipped draught beers like Sam Adams Oktoberfest Franziskaner Hefe-Weiszen, and Spaten Oktoberfest. They munched on Chef Walter’s Jumbo Pretzels, Wiener Schnitzel, Roasted Pork Loin, Ale Poached Bratwurst and Knockwurst, served with sauerkraut and German roasted potatoes, and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
