Networking Organization Invites Scotch Plains Businesses To Join, April 30 at Snuffy's

Business Network International (BNI) is an international networking organization specializing in business referrals among members, and the Scotch Plains PLAYMAKERS Chapter is holding a Visitor’s Day on Tuesday, April 30 from 6:45 – 8:30 AM at Snuffy’s Pantagis, 250 Park Avenue, Scotch Plains, NJ.

“We are inviting businesses to come and meet the Chapter that has generated over 2,100 referrals for member businesses last year alone, which generated over $800,000 worth of business for its members,” said local President Maureen Illanovsky, the Realtor of the group. “Our goal this year is to increase that number to one million.”

BNI was founded in 1985 by Ivan R. Misner, author of The World’s Best Known Marketing Secret, Seven Second Marketing, Business by Referral, Masters of Networking and Masters of Success. “Our style of networking is based on the philosophy ‘giver’s gain’, - if I help you, then you’ll help me, and we’ll all do better business,” says Misner.

“Seats around this table are exclusive and much sought after,” said Karen Temple, the Public Relations Chair for the group and the Interior Decorator.  “There can only be one person for each category, and there is a very rigorous vetting process.”

The business categories currently being interviewed are Real Estate Attorney, Moving/Relocation Company, Property Management, Home Inspection, Plumber, Waterproofing, Landscaper, Caterer, Event Planner, Limousine Service, Travel Agency, Cleaning Service, HVAC, auto Repair, Office Equipment, Sign Maker, Beauty Salon/Spa, Dentist, Podiatrist, Acupuncturist and Holistic Practitioner.
