TV Series Films Episode at John's Meat Market in Scotch Plains

A Bio Channel series used John's Meat Market to film an episode of a series which partly takes place at a butcher shop.

John's Meat Market was the backdrop for part of a Bio Channel television series on Tuesday evening, where even Nick Losavio himself was able to cut some meat for the cameras.

The episode filmed at the market is part of crime television series involving close relationships, but the Executive Producer said the title cannot be disclosed.

According to Losavio, the series was in need of a butcher shop to film and after a scout visited the location, the show felt John's Meat Market was the perfect spot.
"They really liked the look of the place," Losavio said.

As 20 to 30 members of the television series walked through the market, many of them commented on how great the place was as they admired the memorabilia that lined the walls.

Filmed at John's were scenes featuring actors playing butchers as they handed off product and interacted with customers.

Also, one of the main characters of the episode was shown interacting with the woman playing the cashier behind the counter.

The crew was originally supposed to film at the market at 2 p.m., which led John's to close their doors, but the crew ended up arriving around 6 p.m.

The episode is set to air in early 2013 according to the Executive Producer. The director said it is likely to air in early January, but currently there is no set date.

Keep an eye out for John's Meat Market on Bio Channel.
