Scotch Plains-Fanwood Students Against Destructive Decisions seeks support for its latest competition
For those who are not familiar with Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School's newest club, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) is committed to informing students and community members about societal issues including distracted driving, drunk driving, bullying, mental health, and many more. In our first year, we have achieved national recognition on multiple occasions. We won a $25,000 driving simulator for the high school driver's education program, obtained 500 free tee-shirts for accumulating the most votes in the Act Out Loud competition, and attended the SADD National Conference in Orlando Florida where our nation-wide Public Service Announcement, "Share the Road" was played in front of the entire national organization.
Though our executive board and adviser, Marjorie FitzGibbon, had an excellent first year, we do not plan to stop here. We are working on another competition currently called Celebrate My Drive through State Farm. We could win $25,000, $100,000, or a Kelly Clarkson concert. We need the whole community's support. Please go to www.celebratemydrive.com and make a safe-driving pledge once per day with every email account that you have.
