5 Things: Council Meeting, Dusk Hike and More

The events and issues to keep in mind today.

  1. The Scotch Plains Mayor and Township Council hold their monthly business meeting. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m., but will then go into closed, executive session. The open public meeting will follow. Click the PDF thumbnail at right for the agenda.
  2. The Fanwood Downtown Redevelopment Agency meets at 7:30 p.m. in Borough Hall.
  3. McGinn and School One's PTAs have meetings at 7:30 p.m. at their respective schools.
  4. The Scotch Plains Public Library hosts two story-times for children this morning, and Scrabble for Grownups at 1 p.m.
  5. Trailside Nature and Science Center hosts a "Dusk Hike" form 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Families with children ages 5 and older are invited to join at Trailside Naturalist to explore fields and forests as the sun sets behind the Watchung Mountains, according to a press release distributed by the county. The program costs $6 per person for county residents and $7 per person for non-residents.
